Wild waiting for Saku Koivu’s decision

It’s official, besides the Minnesota Wild three other teams are interested on signing Saku Koivu.

The New Jersey Devils, Anaheim Ducks and New York Rangers also showed interest.

Wild GM Chuck Fletcher told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune “negotiations are ongoing with Saku.”

“We’ve expressed some interest. I think a lot of teams have expressed interest,” Fletcher said. “He’s a great hockey player and there aren’t a lot of centermen in the market place, so I’d be stunned if 10 or 15 teams haven’t reached out to him by this point.

“I certainly sensed some interest, but there’s a lot of good situations out there. Most teams in the league are thin at the center position.”

Saku Koivu is getting popular with other teams.

According to recent reports,several teams are interested in aquiring the Unrestricted free agent.

As we know the Minnesota Wild already made him an offer. Supposedly a three-year contract. But apparently they are not the only ones who would want to sign him.

The Anaheim Ducks,Columbus Blue Jackets,New Jersey Devils and the NY Rangers are teams that sources say are interested in Koivu.

There’s no word  yet when  Koivu will announce his choice.
