Tim Wharnsby of the Globe and Mail reported that the Montreal Canadiens will play a regular season game at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal against the Washington Capitals.
The 2009-10 NHL schedule will be released tomorrow. If the game is held it will be in late November. The competition committee gave it’s approval for the game to be held at the Olympic Stadium three weeks ago,but the NHL schedule makers have to accommodate the request.
Players and jerseys
All the new players with the Habs have decided on their numbers.
- Jaroslav Spacekis keeping his number 6 jersey that he wore until now.
- Travis Moen chose number 32. He was wearing that number when he was with the Anaheim Ducks when they won the Stanley Cup
- Hal Gill chose the number 75 for his jersey. It’s represents his birth year
- Paul Mara chose number 22. Consedered a bad number with the Habs.Benoît Brunet and Steve Bégin wore that number in the past and were injured a lot.
- Brian Gionta took number 21.
- Mike Cammalleri has number 13
- Scott Gomez has number 91.
